The first edition of the Kairos project took place in a vacant apartment in Lyon : housing for rent in a real estate agency that offers to visit its apartments by lending the keys, we took advantage of it to build an exhibition without they consent. The address and exact description of the apartment were given the opening day because of the uncertainty about its availability. Right after artist short intervention, we were then organizing tours of the apartment. Visits which lasted 30 minutes, scheduled in advance via a web interface.
Three young artists were participating to this first experiment : Mükerrem Tuncay with an in-situ installation in the bathroom, Clemence Prieur and Morgane Roumegoux offering performances reacting with the place.
We asked them to anticipate a piece responding to the specificity of this time and place : proposition easily transportable and addressed to this archetypal – and yet unknown in its details – space.
